San Juan Rodworks Fly Rod

I’m a full time guide and have fished with several high end rods over the years. After fishing the Gunnison rod, made by San Juan Rod Works, I have put two of these rods, 6 weights, in my boat. They have been great rods for beginner fly fisherman and experienced fly fisherman alike. They throw line very well and are very forgiving. My clients have loved them. They have also become my go two rods for my own fishing. The staff at San Juan Rod Works have been quick to respond and very easy to work with. These rods are very high quality and I would compare them to any high end rods. San Juan Rod Works hit a home run with this rod. Highly recommended. These rods are great. When I fished one for the first time, it immediately felt like a rod priced several hundred dollars more. The Fryingpan rod is smooth casting and has finesse. The Gunnison rod packs plenty of punch for windy days, larger flies and big fish. The Conejos rod has a sensitivity that allows you to feel even the most subtle bumps on the nymph while euro style nymphing. I’ve guided the southern Rockies for 20 years, and these rods are going to be great tools for my clients for many years to come. This is a solid company with great customer service.
